I have to say that we are really impressed with the new mcommerce site for BestBuy.
It seems to be very crisp, clean and super quick (even over 3g). At first you are greeted with quite a low res image (even for a mobile), but this does not distract you from the navigation and search bar of the site.
The vertical navigation options for the selected areas are smaller than you would usually find (compared to say Amazon), but yet again this is a good thing as there is less propensity for the user to slide the site down.
Another big thumbs up is for the Footer of the site, it is great. It places what we think think are the fundamental areas a user may want to visit including T&C’s, Privacy Policy and the VERY IMPORTANT Full Site.
But here @mobi_site we all agree that the PIECE DE RESISTANCE has to be the Store Locator. It seems to use more of the jQuery Mobile Framework than the rest of the site does including a slide from right to left when choosing your local store. It also includes a great “Directions from where you are” button which (on iPhone) opens up the Maps App and shows you the way.
If we are to have 1 criticism that would be the quality of some of the buttons. We understand that the lower the quality the less the browser has to do to render it thus improving page speed. But we think they could improve those without a dramatic increase in loading times.
Our Score: 5/5

I totally agree with you about the vertical menu. it is presented logically. However, I thought that the footer menu, especially the bottom part looks a bit scattered and has a lot of space… just my 2 cents. Excellent review though. Keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback. Awesome to have some contrasting views, that is was Web Design is all about. Taken a look at your site and love your articles.
